Fallout 4 was one of 2015’s biggest games, and Bethesda is celebrating memorial day weekend with a free to play weekend for it. Until May 28, Xbox One and PC users can play the game free of charge. You can play as much as you want and save your game so that if you decide to buy it down the road, your progress will carry over. Fallout 4 has received a nice digital discount, taking it to $19.80 – so if you wanted it before, getting it for one third of the regular retail price isn’t bad at all.
The Fallout games aren’t for everyone, and Bethesda’s take on it is definitely a bit different than Obsidian’s. While New Vegas remains my personal favorite entry in the series, Fallout 4 is a close second. It manages to bring both the fear of Fallout 3 with the user-friendly design of New Vegas. For a hair under $20, it’s a great deal and anyone curious about the series should at least try it out this weekend for free. You have nothing to lose and may wind up with a new franchise to enjoy.
